In Cabinteely athletic club, our first priority is the welfare of the young people we coach and we are committed to providing an environment which will allow participants to perform to the best of their ability, free from bullying and intimidation. We are fully committed to safeguarding the well being of all of our members. Every individual in the club should at all times, show respect and understanding for members rights, safety & welfare and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the organisation and the guidelines covered in the Code of Ethics and Good practice.
We adhere to the the welfare and safeguarding policies developed by Athletics Ireland which we developed in line with the national guidelines as outlined in Children’s First and by the Irish Sports Council. The code of ethics and good practice is attached below which all our volunteers and coaches are aware of and adhere to.

VETTING PROCESS -eVETTING IS NOW AVAILABLE!
All volunteers working in our club are vetting according to the legislation requirements of the Vetting Act. Vetting is now a legal requirement and an important part of our safe recruitment processes along with acceptable references and safeguarding training.
Athletics Ireland has developed a one page eVetting Invitation & ID Validation form that can be downloaded by clicking here or on the link below. This form contains the legal declarations required for an eVetting invitation to be sent to an applicant by email. The applicants signature is required to authorise the eVetting process. This is the only form that will need to be posted to Athletics Ireland to request an eVetting invitation email.
